Gung Hay Fat Choy 2018
I got the best fortune today. There was a plate of fortune cookies at the front desk of my health club. I grabbed one as I was leaving post workout this morning. I knew it would be a good one. Here is what it says:
You Are Free to Invent Your Life
Authors, you are creating stories all of the time. Use your creativity to invent the life you want. You can change your picture of yourself when you imagine that you are writing the life of a character. Then, go out and live the life you imagine.
Cancer Is My Reset Button
My brush with cancer in 2014 gave me the opportunity to change my story. I have. I shed those negative people I had been tolerating. I fired a couple of pain-in-the-neck clients. I select who I spend time with more carefully now. I choose to be happy. I choose to reinvent myself every day as a healthy, happy, creative tour-de-force.
Today, 4 years and counting, I am healthier, stronger, enjoying life more than before.
I shifted my mind to focus on what I want. I did this consciously and subconsciously (thank you, Steven Campbell.) I dropped close to 60 pounds post-chemotherapy following a workshop I attended where Steven explained how to turn on the power of my mind to figure things out in early 2016. It took me some time, yet here I am today, feeling terrific and strong.
I am using the tools Steven shared to reshape my conversation about being a writer. I am an Author, Publisher, and Book Marketer. I entered my writing in two contests and to my surprise, my poems and story were selected for publication.
Tell Yourself Who You Want to Be
Write it down: I am an Author, Publisher, and Book Marketer. Put this on your mirror where you can see it every day. Repeat it when you see it. Then, relax and let the magic unfold in your life. If you believe, you can be it.
I am saying these words daily as I get moving on finishing my book.
I am an Author, Publisher, and Book Marketer.
